(20 August 2020) - Eastspring Investments (“Eastspring”), the USD 241 billion Asian investment management arm of Prudential plc, announced today the appointment of Adisorn Sermchaiwong as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TMBAM Eastspring (TMBAM ES) and Thanachart Fund Eastspring (TFUND ES). Subject to regulatory approval, Mr Sermchaiwong will commence in this role on 10 September 2020. Reporting to Wai-Kwong Seck, Chief Executive Officer, Eastspring Investment, Mr Sermchaiwong will be responsible for overseeing the integration of Eastspring’s two Thai asset management businesses as well as growing the firm’s retail and institutional presence in this vibrant market.
Eastspring acquired 65 per cent of TMB Asset Management (now TMBAM Eastspring) in September 2018, and 50.1 per cent of Thanachart Fund (now Thanachart Fund Eastspring) in December 2019. Through Eastspring’s combined holdings, the firm is the 5th largest asset manager in Thailand with a market share of 8 per cent and combined assets under management (“AUM”) of THB 370billion (USD 12 billion)1.
Mr Sermchaiwong has more than 25 years’ experience in investment management, wealth management and retail banking, and joins Eastspring from CIMB Thai Bank (CIMBT), where he was the President and Chief Executive Officer. Having worked at CIMBT since 2012, Mr Sermchaiwong has held a number of roles including Deputy CEO and Head of Retail Banking.
With deep experience in the Thai market, Mr Sermchaiwong has also held senior positions at UOB Thai Bank and Siam Commercial Bank and was President of SCB Asset Management.

Mr Sermchaiwong assumes his role from Mr Boonchai Kiattanavith, CEO of TFUND Eastspring, and Dr Somjin Sornpaisarn, CEO of TMBAM ES. Mr Kiattanavith is leaving to pursue other interests and Dr Somjin is retiring after 11 years as TMBAM Eastspring CEO.
