Singapore, 12 December 2013 - Eastspring Investments, the asset management arm of Prudential Corporation Asia, today announced the appointment of Jackie Chew as Chief Executive Officer of its Singapore business.
Reporting to Eastspring Investments Chief Executive, Guy Strapp, Ms Chew will be responsible for the operations of the Singapore office which serves as the asset manager’s central investment hub. The largest of Eastspring’s 11 Asia offices, it has just under 300 staff.
Ms Chew, who joins from Prudential Corporation Asia, takes up the role this week.. Her appointment will allow Mr Strapp to focus on his broader Chief Executive responsibilities across the entire Eastspring Investments operations.
Most recently, Ms Chew was the Regional Director of Group-wide Internal Audit Asia for Prudential Corporation Asia. In this role Ms Chew was responsible for the internal audit function for all Prudential businesses in Asia, including asset management and life insurance. She was also a member of the Prudential Group-wide Internal Audit Global Leadership Team.

"Jackie’s experience in asset management, life insurance, corporate banking, investment banking, together with her strong leadership skills will ensure our business continues to go from strength to strength in this important market. Jackie’s move to Eastspring Investment will also draw on strong ties with the other Prudential businesses,” said Mr Strapp.
Prior to joining Prudential, Ms Chew was the Chief Auditor for ING Asia Pacific and she has also held senior roles at Merrill Lynch and PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is a qualified Certified Public Accountant, has an MBA in Business and a Bachelor of Accountancy.
